the most expensive city to live?
Tokyo, the Japan capital is the largest city in the country. It is also one of Japan's 47 prefectures. The metropolis of Tokyo consists of 23 city wards, 26 cities, 5 towns and 8 villages, including the Izu and Ogasawara Islands, several small Pacific Islands in the south of Japan's main island Honshu. One is well-known about Tokyo was its highest living expenses due to the skyrocketing price for real estates. Today perhaps it has lessened a bit.

If you are gaijin (foreigners) it might be challenging to survive cities in Japan without a translator. In Tokyo however, many signs in subway and train stations already include Romanized characters (romaji). In fact there are a number of districts in the city that are designated for foreigners. However, beyond the gaijin zone, it is best to prepare yourself with some Katakana. It will be useful when you need to do ordering in restaurants, shopping in stores, and asking for directions.
Nikko.restaurant
Tokyo has two large airports: Narita and Haneda. We landed in Narita, the international hub for Tokyo. The City Narita is located about 70 km northeast of Tokyo. We happened to stay in Nikko Hotel during our visit. I recall I really enjoyed the foods in the restaurant. Everything from the appetizers, main course, salad, to the desserts, they were all well-presented and tasty. I thought that I could find the same standard of taste in any Nikko Hotel in the world. However, I learned that there is no such strict standard. It depends on the chef on duty. Sigh ...., I think I need to go back to Nikko in Narita some time.
