sausalito beach It is located handsomely in a hilly peninsula. My most favorite time of visit is during late afternoon nearing sunset where you can see a play of light from houses across the hill slope. You can have a nice stroll along the road and stop by at stores of your interest. I chose to sit in one of the coffee shops and enjoyed the receding city while sipping java. .

Chow time If you are a sea food lover, you will enjoy many delicacies from the city area. I stopped by one of the sea food stalls along the Fisherman's Dwarf during my visit. The hot clam chowder tasted so good on that windy morning of January. Soon we enjoyed other menus on the list. Lobster anyone?

a plain and simple facet of beauty
the heart of the golden state
I think it is not a exaggeration to call SF the attraction center of California. Well, objections from Southern California residents could surely be expected in this case... But consider what you can enjoy in one day tour of the city and greater area: Fisherman's Wharf, Ghirardelli square, Aquarium of the Bay, Golden gate bridge, Coit tower, Exploratorium, famous snaking Lombard street, Sausalito beach, Napa valley and seemingly endless other destinations around the city.
the.city
SF is one of the most important cities of the US. Its history has been marked with gold-rush, earthquakes and fires. From the city you can equally reach the country natural wonders as well as golden spots for technology in a short drive. Dotcom giants are originally and still housed in the area: E-bay, YaHoo, Google and hundreds others.

A drive around the city would give an opportunity to see various kind of architectures. Some areas are typified by the Victorian style houses. One area that is considered an upscale community is the Russian Hill. We happened to drive around the area at night and thus could enjoy the sparkling beauty of the city night view from one of the hill top. Beautiful. Or what the Californian would have called it: awesome!
lombard.street
When someone goes to SF area, she would not have missed the most famous street in the city : Lombard Street. It must have been one of the most winding streets in the world. The street is located just a few blocks from Ghirardelli square. With the length of about 200 yards, it has 7 sharp corners on a 40 degree slope. Historically it was built in the old city time to accommodate city's horses which found the street to be too steep for them. Best time for driving and viewing pleasure is during spring or summer when flowers are blossoming. I'd advise you to respect the residents and be particularly quiet if you plan to visit it at night.
