the film It was the title of a film in my childhood. I vaguely remember it as a film about cowboys, prairies, indians, and southwestern American landscape. One of the similar also featured heroic federation army with a dog called Rin Tin Tin. The Wild Wild West was revitalized as a film starring Will Smith though with the touch of modern Hollywood gadgets.
Rantanplan Ever heard of the name? Yes, it is a stupid dog in Lucky Luke series owned by Dalton Brothers.

what is special about albequerque?
Well ...I should say nothing. Oops, of course I am joking. It is a special city, just like any other cities in the US :). The first impression that you'd get however will be different from that of other "regular" cities in the east or west coast. It seems to be a bit more laid-back and unpretentious. The appearance is also unique with a lot of touch of, I think, Indian culture. The names of the roads and areas tell quite a bit about that. When you drive around, you could see the trace of culture in the building architectures. In fact, they stated clearly some of the Southwestern artwork in the crossing-bridge of the expressway.

It just happened that my trip to Albequerque occurred on a night before the Xmas. After securing a nice Mazda sedan, we drove our way to the hotel along a very conveniently empty roads. That was quite a relief for us as drivers from the crowded cities of North East: Boston, New York, .... We finally learned that price for the comfort came one day later when we found out that almost any business were closed on the Xmas day except some gas stations and small convenient stores. After driving under the threat of starvation for hours and hours finally we got lucky to find one restaurant open. Guess which one? You are right, it was an Oriental (Indian) resto. We could enjoy a decent curry chicken and delicious rice pudding prior to heading north to Denver, Colorado!

Don't expect any skycrappers in the city, you will get disappointed. There was only one unique building with its glowing green light during the night. It was the Wells Fargo Bank building. When I drove past it, it reminded me of the old wild wild west character in the Lucky Luke series. |
